We Got Siding!!!!!

Our siding is complete! Well, by these photos, it is almost, but as of today, it is. As is the septic system (thank goodness!) and the last of the wiring outside of the house for the flag pole and the driveway light. Primer for the upstairs rooms has also been complete. Primer for the first floor and the basement is next, along with the colors on the walls!!!

Until next time!

Paint, Siding, and a back Retaining Wall

With the drywall complete, it is time for painting and siding. We've choosen a sea/periwinkle blue for the great room, a cottage stone (tan/pink) for the stairs and upstairs hall, and other tones of the sea including light grey, light blue, and light green. The siding is a Cape Cod Grey, although in our sundown pics it looks slightly pink in tone. Sundown at the house was lovely this past week. Check out all the photos!

A new retaining wall in the lower back of the house near the garage is also taking shape.

Our move is temporarily planned for mid-October. We are so excited!

Electricity!

The power company came recently to bury the electrical cables and get everything set up. Take a look at the process!

Drywall in the Studio!

Here are some new pics of the studio!

Dry Wall is up!

Today we visited the house, and all the drywall has been installed with the exception of the basement. We thought the addition of the drywall would make the rooms seem smaller, but the opposite was the truth. What big rooms we have! We were very pleased with how the house is beginning to really take shape. We picked out our paint colors today! Take a look and enjoy! We will place a few different entries so we can share photos in detail.

Until next time!

Knock! Knock!

Who's there? Landshark! NO, it's a new front door! Our front door and sidelights were installed, and we just had to make sure it worked. It is a little bit of a Mission-style with pretty glasswork. We've been thinking about painting it a barn red.

The insulation is next an then the drywall!

Electricity, Tubs, & Showers!

The electrical work is near completion, with an obnoxiously double electrical panel & box, enough juice to light up the house and a few out buildings. We also thought at the last moment about placing outlets in the living room floor, just in case we want to put a lamp in the middle of the room. (thank you to Mom Hurst for that wise suggestion!) In addition, the bathroom tubs and showers arrived. The original tub for the master bath was the wrong shape, so it had to be returned. We will have a separate soaking tub and walk-in shower in the master bath, and an "all in one" version for the upstairs bath. To end things for now, we also received our flag pole for the front yard. Quite a long package!
