The electrical work is near completion, with an obnoxiously double electrical panel & box, enough juice to light up the house and a few out buildings. We also thought at the last moment about placing outlets in the living room floor, just in case we want to put a lamp in the middle of the room. (thank you to Mom Hurst for that wise suggestion!) In addition, the bathroom tubs and showers arrived. The original tub for the master bath was the wrong shape, so it had to be returned. We will have a separate soaking tub and walk-in shower in the master bath, and an "all in one" version for the upstairs bath. To end things for now, we also received our flag pole for the front yard. Quite a long package!

Outside changes
The deck is partially complete, and the front porch deck is getting prepared for the concrete to be poured. Turning to the chimney, the mortar has been readied to accept the new stonework. Some of our doors have also been installed, as well as almost all the windows! 14 on the second floor alone. Until next time!! Stay tuned!

A Cookout and a Broken Ankle
Our first cookout with friends at the house went well. We enjoyed a beautiful Saturday evening with burgers, chicken, and a campfire. And then, snap!, someone steps off the porch and breaks their ankle. Yes, yours truly. :( After several painful days, and getting used to crutches, things are turning around.
The house construction continues, however! Check out the next blog for some amazing pics!

The roof is going on!
Our new metal roof in Charcoal Grey is going onto the house now! Wow, they are really moving along. David and I have had to select many materials over the last couple of weeks. That in conjunction with me travelling all over with my job. It's been a bit crazy, but very much fun! We've picked out the faucets and other bathroom decor, finalized the kitchen cabinets and appliance choices, as well as our exterior rock for the foundation and chimney.
We are excited to have our first cookout at our new location this coming weekend! Be on the lookout for photos from this fun event. We are expecting wonderful weather and good friends.
Until next time, happy building!
