A search for a couch
We went searching for a couch yesterday! After looking at the good, the bad, and the expensive, we found a winner! In the photos above, it is the green one (although we will choose a different fabric). We had a very helpful, yet not pushy, associate from Mostly Sofas in Roanoke assist us.
We have lights, a tub, and some concrete!
We have some of our lighting fixtures in the bathrooms, great room, and stairwell. We decided to put "squiggly lights" in the kitchen, to save energy, and we have many dimmer switches throughout the house. We also have our soaking tub in. (my relaxation splurge!) It is complete with a dimming light overhead. David couldn't help but check it out early.

chairs for the living room!
We found an amazing antique chair and matching rocker, along with a love seat, at our friends' shop in Floyd, Finder's Keepers. They needed new upholstry, and we were able to find a nice cream on cream stripe pattern. We had them redone, and they will be the basis for our new great/living room!
Now if only we could find a new couch.......
Painting complete!!!!
The painting has been completed in the house. Blue Thistle in the great room, Cottage Stone in the stairwell and upstairs hall. Stratosphere, a very light periwinkle blue, in the second bedroom, and a sage green in the third bedroom. Master bedroom is a color called Winter Evening, a peachy color, a grey in the office downstairs, and Spring Waterfall in David's toy room (the "Man Cave")! Overall, the colors all work well together, and we are ready to move in!! They have our master bath tub in, and they are starting to put the light fixtures in. Whoo hoo!
Right now, we are looking at a possible move time in mid-Oct!

Our siding is complete! Well, by these photos, it is almost, but as of today, it is. As is the septic system (thank goodness!) and the last of the wiring outside of the house for the flag pole and the driveway light. Primer for the upstairs rooms has also been complete. Primer for the first floor and the basement is next, along with the colors on the walls!!!
Until next time!

Paint, Siding, and a back Retaining Wall
With the drywall complete, it is time for painting and siding. We've choosen a sea/periwinkle blue for the great room, a cottage stone (tan/pink) for the stairs and upstairs hall, and other tones of the sea including light grey, light blue, and light green. The siding is a Cape Cod Grey, although in our sundown pics it looks slightly pink in tone. Sundown at the house was lovely this past week. Check out all the photos!
A new retaining wall in the lower back of the house near the garage is also taking shape.
Our move is temporarily planned for mid-October. We are so excited!
